My Journey as a Professional Website Designer
Feeling there was a niche in the market for website designers to provide ‘value for money’ custom website designs, I set out on my own and so my professional website design company was established. Initially run on a part-time basis, it soon became sustainable on a full-time level and following its success, I converted to a full-time web design operation in 2003.
As a small UK-based business, I can offer a full range of web-based services with a personal touch, meaning your project will get my undivided attention at all times. With over twenty years of experience I can help you with most website based issues or requirements.
I’m now also offering AI website services to help you target AI suggestions in Google and am pivoting towards being an AI Website Consultant and web designer.

2003 – Present: Transitioned to full-time operations as a small business website designer, supporting over 500 UK SMEs to date. Over the past two decades I’ve worked with tradespeople, professional services, charities, tourism businesses, retailers and consultants across the UK. Every project has reinforced the same principle: successful websites are built around trust, clarity and solving real customer problems.
2010 – 2020: Specialised in WordPress development and e-commerce, becoming a go-to specialist for site migrations and critical error fixes.
2024 – 2026: Pivoted into Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI Website Consulting, ensuring small businesses remain discoverable in the age of AI search.
One thing that has never changed throughout my career is a desire to understand how things work. Whether it’s a new WordPress feature, changes in Google’s algorithms or the emergence of AI search, I enjoy testing, learning and applying those discoveries to benefit my clients.
